SYNOPSIS:

David Corwin, the owner of a local Construction business is used to working on projects big and small. Building something solid that will last is the goal of any construction project, but at home the foundation and structure of his own family is falling apart.

Jen (David's wife), is actively involved in their local church, and is the devout Christian in their home. Jen and David have been married for many years but their conflicting views about the church have slowly put a wedge in their relationship. After a car accident claims Jen's life, David's attitude toward God and the church are destroyed. Ignoring phone calls of encouragement from his church and family members, David decides to continue on his own without God, his family, or the church.

David's son Steven (now the only strong Christian of the family), is now struggling with obedience to his father and is unsure of how to handle his fathers new attitude towards the Lord. Seeking advice from his best friend Maggie, Steven slowly realizes that he needs to be the Christian example in his home and 'Stand Firm' on the Word of God, regardless of his fathers attitude.

All the while in their driveway sits an unfinished shed, a family project all three of them started before Jen's accident. It now sits as a constant reminder to David of his wife's death.

The Lord slowly works on David's heart as the truth is revealed. Could there have been a purpose in Jen's death? What is God trying to reveal to David? Will Steven and his father's relationship ever be the same? What can David do to rebuild his past?

David learns quickly the many things that Christians struggle with after trusting the Lord as their Savior. Reading his Bible on a regular basis and the tactics the enemy uses to keep you distracted. Witnessing to close friends and family, and the rejections that can follow. David learns to be patient, trust in the Lord, 'Stand Firm' on the Word of God, and by doing so see the Blessings and joy that can come forth.

Standing Firm is the story of a family, that families tragedy, and the climb back to redemption.
